I’ve been trying to note how people vocations use a different terminology for the people they provide service for.
| Vocation | Refer to people as… | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Salesperson | Account | I have a close relationship with that account |
| Health Practiotioner | Patient | The patient would come in today |
| Consultant | Client | I met up with the client today |
| Waiter/Waitress | Party | We’re expecting a party of 1 at noon |
| Teacher | Students | My students are here now |
| Lawyer | Client | They’re a high profile client of mine |
| Therapist | Client/Pateint | They’re a vulnerable client |
| Tech Support | User | The user didn’t clink a button |
| Project Manager | Stakeholder | We’ll present to the stakeholders |
| Customer Service Agent | Customer | The customer wasn’t happy |
| Marketer | Audience | The audience didn’t like it too much |
All of these are people who are served, but the word changes based on the vocation.
